Our Mission Statement
“Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously.”  Micah 6:8
Compassionate, Fair and Loyal
Ministries ~~~
The primary focus of our church mission work is local charities and non profits working to improve the life of residents on the Eastern Shore. A substantial portion of the Eastern Shore population has needs being met by nonprofit organizations and charities. Blessed with a small trust endowment, the church is able to help these groups.

One example is the time and financial help provided for a major renovation of the shelter for individuals faced with domestic violence. Another example is a major gift to support the construction of the Community Health Center, which provides affordable health care for anyone.

The Accomac Interfaith Crisis Council (AICC) was formed by an interdenominational group of local churches. AICC assists those in serious need of help with utility bills and/or heating.  Many of our church members serve as volunteers in operating this charity

The Eastern Shore Presbyterian Ministries (ESPM)was formed by the 5 Presbyterian Churches on the Eastern shore. ESPM provides much needed school supplies to all the elementary schools on the shore. The program has grown to include support from other churches and individuals. The annual purchase and distribution of supplies has become a major event in the life of
our Eastern Shore
Presbyterian churches.

ARC House is a joint mission project of the Francis Makemie and Naomi Makemie churches.

Mission work at NMPC is ongoing beyond the annual donations to a variety of local organizations, our congregation participates in
Mission Matter-the monthly mission theme
Mission Mega-a monthly congregation wide activity
Mission Mini-a monthly youth mission acivity.
Mission Move-the monthly mission collection (cans for the food bank, socks for seniors)
The monthly theme can be found in our newsletters and Sunday bulletins.

We also engage in other activities such as Halloween where we give out 600 snack bags of candy a year. We have a chili cook off and a Souper Bowl Sunday fund raiser for the Food Bank. We work together at the annual town yard sale. We enjoy holding benefit dinners. We participate in the town parades. And we organize an ecumenical Vacation Bible School every year.
